Holy Land

May 19–31, 2019

Fr. John Kerns, pastor at Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Lake Oswego, will lead the 13-day pilgrimage.

Participants will visit Tel Aviv, Jaffa, the Caesarea National Park, Megiddo, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, the Jordan River, Cana, Nazareth, Jerusalem, Jericho, Bethany, Bethlehem and the Dead Sea.

Some highlights of the pilgrimage include:

  • St. Peter’s Church and Andromeda Rock in Jaffa;
  • Roman theater and Herodian Amphitheater at the Caesarea National Park;
  • Mount Tabor and the Basilica of the Transfiguration in Megiddo;
  • A boat from Jesus’ time at Beit Yigal Allon Museum;
  • Church of the Mount of Beatitudes, and Peter’s house in Capernaum;
  • Baptismal site of Jesus on the Jordan River;
  • Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee;
  • Mount of Beatitudes in Cana;
  • Basilica of the Annunciation and Holy Grotto in Nazareth;
  • Mount of Olives, Gethsemane and Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem;
  • Mount of Temptation in Jericho; and
  • Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

Tour includes roundtrip airfare from Portland, plus overnight stays in first-class hotels. Most meals are provided. Mass will be celebrated daily.

  • Israel: Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Mount of Beatitudes, Caesarea, Mount Carmel, Haifa, Cana, Capernaum, Golan, Jericho, Masada, and The Dead Sea.
  • Italy and Austria: Rome, Assisi, Florence, Venice and Verona in Italy; and Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna in Austria.
