Within this collection, Koren and Jessica have further developed their style with catchy, yet passionate tunes. Many of the songs are directly inspired by Scripture, but use a variety of contemporary styles to reach a younger generation of Hispanic Catholics in the U.S. and in Spanish-speaking countries. From the style of contemporary rock with subtle elements of country in “Es Jesús,” to the “island” feel of “Tu Amor Es Fiel,” with its accented upbeats, this couple continues to amaze.
The songs contain a variety of themes perfect for different seasons throughout the liturgical year. Such is the case with “Cristo Volverá,” drawing from readings on the second coming of our Lord, to be used, ideally, during Advent; “Sacia Mi Vida,” a serene track suitable for the Anointing of the Sick or for healing purposes; “Cristo Te Alabo,” another mellow piece, for the Adoration of the Eucharist; and “No Soy Digno,” with text from Matthew 8:8, an accessible song, which like the entire collection, can be played and sung by praise and worship groups or the entire assembly.
The recording was produced by the experienced Juan Delgado, who has mastered the art of recording contemporary collections that will delight multicultural assemblies. Juan, Koren and Jessica also decided to reincorporate “Alaben al Señor,” a song that is already known and loved by many and “Muévete en Mí,” a collaboration with Athenas that has touched the hearts of millions.
Tu Amor Es Fiel is a welcome reminder of the joy, hope and companionship that our Catholic faith fills us with each day.
