Bio
Born in Colima, Mexico, Fr. Lucatero was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Spokane, Washington in 1986. He furthered his studies in theology at the Catholic University in Lovaina, Belgium and received a doctorate in Liturgical Studies at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Heliodoro also served as the president of the National Hispanic Institute of Liturgy from 1997 and 2001.
He is currently the Director of the Office of Worship of the Archdiocese of San Antonio and the pastor of St. Michael Parish. He published a book discussing the third edition of the Roman Missal, The Living Mass: Changes to the Roman Missal and How We Worship. It was also published in Spanish as, Una tradición siempre nueva, siempre viva: Los cambios recientes de la Misa.
Fr. Lucatero's workshops are directed toward areas such as basic liturgical formation and the active participation of the assembly. One of his great contributions was the workshop "Formation of Ministers" for the Archdiocese of Portland and the Diocese of Yakima. Presently, he also serves in the Hispanic Sub-Committee of the Bishop's Committee of Divine Worship.
