After much prayer and discernment, OCP made the difficult decision to discontinue publishing its annual missal featuring modern liturgical music and contemporary songs of faith, Choose Christ Missal. Liturgical year 2024 was the last year the missal was available in print, but the music featured in Choose Christ Missal is still available in a variety of ways.
Choose Christ Missal accompaniment books will remain available for use and sale through 2026. You can also access digital assets for the music through One License and CCLI. If you prefer a physical book in the pews, the Spirit & Song hymnal features a similar contemporary repertoire while Breaking Bread is an annual missal that includes Sunday readings and an extensive repertoire including contemporary songs.
OCP publisher Wade Wisler assures modern liturgical music-lovers that they will continue to have resources available from OCP. “Our commitment to providing contemporary music for prayer and liturgy is stronger than ever,” he says. “We are already working hard to find new and relevant solutions for communities seeking modern worship music.”
