Their previous collaboration, Morning and Evening, was a musical adaptation of the Liturgy of the Hours for commuters and small faith groups. Now Daughter of Charity Sister Paule Freeburg and Christopher Walker have expanded those hymns and psalms for use in parish liturgies throughout the year.

Packing a very generous 18 titles, Glory Bound includes eight hymns, five psalms, two canticles and music for morning and evening prayer. Per their usual division of labor, Sister Paule wrote the song texts, while Christopher penned the music. Styles range from gospel and chant to contemporary. The expanded hymns feature new verses and additional instrument parts.

"Be Still and Know That I Am God" is a gentle piece for times of meditation, RCIA, Lent, funerals, after Communion and commissioning of lay ecclesial ministers. A jaunty hymn of praise, "Not to Us, Lord" is appropriate for commissioning, discipleship, RCIA and ordinations.

The collection closes on a high note with "Glory Bound." This vigorous, gospel-style hymn makes an excellent recessional at any joyful Mass, but works best at Eastertide, funerals and school liturgies. Both text and music invite improvisation. Sister Paule and Christopher suggest adding solo parts, harmonies, or verses to fit the Gospel theme of the day.

Originally inspired by the Liturgy of the Hours, the hymns and psalms of Glory Bound will inspire joyful participation in Sunday liturgies for years to come.
