Litany for the Earth
Litany for the Earth is written as a dialogue in which a Cantor voices invocations based on A Prayer for Our Earth from the papal encyclical Laudato Si’, and the Assembly responds “Pour out your mercy, pour out your love!” and “Heal our common home!” This easy-to-learn litany would be appropriate at any liturgy celebrating the gift of creation and our responsibility to be good stewards of the earth. Simple SATB choir parts and a Solo Instrument will further enhance the gentle, haunting melody.
