"'Encontraron el Rostro de Dios' is rooted in themes of liberation theology such as solidarity and God’s preferential option for the poor. My vision when writing this piece was to portray acts of social justice and mercy as mediators of grace and holiness. This composition invites us to see God not only as a transcendental divinity, but to search for God in our contextualized world among those who are at the margins. The lyrics strongly resonate with Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Matthew, “Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me”, which is a call to fulfill the demands of the reign of God by being mediators of justice and peace."
