The Servant King

Tom Booth sits down to talk to Jaime Cortez about The Servant King and the meaning behind it, that in order to be the king like Jesus is, we need to serve others. We have to give up our lives so that others may live.

To a modern world that often seems obsessed with power, wealth and easy gratification, Jaime Cortez presents the example of the Servant King who kneels down to wash our feet. Jesus our King humbly accepted death on the Cross that we might have new life.

"The servant king, changing everything, kneels down with love and washes our feet. Yes, the servant king without wavering, lays down his life for you, and for me."

The song focuses on hospitality and welcome, which is our foundation of faith, the welcoming and the inviting of the most vulnerable. It asks us to be charitable, to be welcoming, to be encouraging.
