This First Responsory of Advent Sunday (Office of Matins) for double choir (SSAATTBB) is challenging both harmonically and melodically (especially with regard to vocal range); it is intended for use by advanced choirs. The solo recitations are based upon Adeste Fidelis and thus, accessible to the listening assembly. As it closes with a Doxology, it could also be used in liturgically appropriate places other than Matins.
