Music resources for bilingual parishes to pair with Unidos en Cristo/United in Christ missal

The bilingual Unidos en Cristo/United in Christ missal is an incredible tool for uniting Spanish- and English-speaking members of bilingual parishes. The missal is specifically designed for bilingual communities, with Spanish and English presented side-by-side on facing pages, and the antiphons and prayers found in their specific moment of the Mass.

Bilingual parishes that use Unidos en Cristo/United in Christ know that there is no better way to support worship unity than with a fully bilingual Order of Mass. They also know how important it is to find the right music resource or hymnal to pair with their missal.

When it comes to music, there isn’t just one perfect solution that’s right for all bilingual parishes. That’s why OCP provides different options designed to serve different parish needs. If your parish is new to the Unidos missal or is looking for a new bilingual music solution now that OCP’s three-year Unidos en Cristo Recurso Musical/United in Christ Music Resource has been retired (the 2024–2026 edition is the last available in print), we have several options suited to all kinds of bilingual parishes.

Mostly Spanish-Speaking

This trusted hymnal makes an excellent companion to both the Unidos missal and OCP’s Misal del Día, with almost 800 songs to enrich Spanish-language and bilingual celebrations. If your parish relied on the retired tri-annual Unidos resource, then Flor y Canto, Cuarta Edición will provide even more of the music your assembly wants in a more permanent format.

Mostly English-Speaking

Today’s Missal Music Issue is an annual resources that provides a wide and familiar English repertoire, along with Spanish and bilingual selections. This allows parishes to support English liturgies while still making space for Spanish-language and shared celebrations.

Equal Parts English and Spanish

Using Flor y Canto alongside Music Issue gives each community depth in its own language while still offering opportunities to sing together. Many parishes tell us this combination helps them celebrate unity while honoring the richness of both languages.
